CHURCH  RECORDING
Salcombe ChurchWhat is Church Recording?  It is making records of the contents of churches which are a catalogue of secular and ecclesiastical art - memorials, metalwork, woodwork, windows, etc. NADFAS members have recorded over 1000 churches but numerous churches in England, Scotland and Wales still need to be recorded.

The work of Church Recorders has a high reputation amongst outside bodies. The  KEDFAS  Church Recorders, under the Group Leadership of Mrs Benedicta FitzGerald, Mrs SouthPool Veronica  Barford and Dr David Radford have handed over all the completed Church Records of Holy Trinity, Salcombe (picture left)
St Nicholas and St Cyriac, South Pool (right) and All Saints Church, Thurlestone.  Primarily  these Records are for the church, but photocopies are given to the Diocesan archives, the   libraries  of the V&A Museum, the Council for the Care of Churches, NADFAS and  corresponding  bodies in  Scotland.

You do not need to be knowledgeable  about Church furnishings:  groups are supported by a  team of experienced recorders and training days are held locally.
